Steve Ransom Trophy – The “Development Portfolio”

This is an opportunity for each club member to try something new this year, and to present the outcome in competition for the Steve Ransom Trophy.  You may choose to develop new skills, go retro, try a new genre, or emulate one of the greats – anything, it’s your choice!  (See details here.) Tony C will share his own plan and prototype submission for the Steve Ransom Trophy in April 26.

Rosebowl Competition Entries

We’re part of the Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs and enter their inter-club Rosebowl competitions.  We’ll confirm the selection of our club’s images for this year.  Round 1 is on 4 November and we’ll host Round 2 on 20 January 2026.

Printing

Round 1 of the print competition is also on 4 Nov.  We’ll explain the rules and consider how to select, edit, print, mount and submit your  images, taking guidance from some of our most successful competitors.

Photos from the Low-Light Challenge

Marian will lead a review of images taken in low light conditions in St Albans City Centre on 30 September.  Please be ready to share your favourite 4-5 shots, one of which should say ‘This is St Albans’.  (Marian will send eveyone a message explaining how to share your images.)  We’ll consider the learning from that evening, and welcome suggestions about future outings.
