1st Meeting of the Year – BRING A FRIEND TO THE PUB

Please bring a friend along for our first meeting of the 2025-26 season.  We already have some guests joining us, including those recruited at our public workshops in May.

We’ll convene at the Elephant and Castle near Wheathamstead for a two-part gathering:

From about 5.30pm

A walk from the pub through the woods to Nomansland Common and back.  Hunt in packs and help each other to spot and grab nice shots of anything – slime moulds, decay, bark patterns, light through the trees, leading lines, wide open views of the common, each other.

From about 7pm

A chance to catch up and look forward to the new season. Start planning together now for:

• Print Competition Round 2 – Theme ‘People’ – 27 January 2026
• Projected Image Competition Round 3 – Theme ‘Architecture’ – 3rd March 2026
• Albert Beale Trophy – Theme ‘Reflections’ – 17th March 2026
• The ‘DEVELOPMENT PORTFOLIO’ competition. It will be externally judged, on the basis of both the learning demonstrated and the quality of the images, in two meetings in April and May.  It’s time to think about the skills you’d like to develop, a new genre you’d like to explore, work out how to use that new bit of kit, or get to grips with Photoshop etc. etc.  You’re invited to ask for help, and to offer it.

Catering

The pub offers a wide and interesting menu, and serves fine ales from the very local Farr Brewery.
