Light Painting In and Around Kimpton Church
February 10 @ 19:00 - 21:00

Club member Richard Craddock has kindly offered to run another light painting workshop for club members. We have a very special venue:
The Church of St Peter and St John
The Green, Kimpton, SG4 8RR
Thank you to Juliet Morton for making the arrangements and to the Reverend Liz Chilton who’s given us permission.
We’ll work in and around the church to create some images with fascinating backgrounds.
Richard has provided this briefing:
WEAR …. dark coloured clothing so that you don’t appear in photos. If you might want to be a model, some brighter clothes underneath your dark layers would be good.
BRING CAMERA KIT :
Camera : Wide angle / Medium zoom lens should be ok.
Tripod : Essential
Remote control release is useful (especially if you can lock the shutter open)
MAKE SURE … You know how to put your camera into long exposure times eg up to 30s
RICHARD will bring various tools for light painting such as :
Fairly lights
Torches / adaptors
Shampoo bottles
Light sticks
Fibre Optic brushes
LED sticks
Tubes
Some of these are expensive , some are very cheap, but they are nearly all a bit fragile, so please treat them nicely.
If you have any tools or things you’d like to try, please bring them to play with. Eg Different coloured plastic bottles?
There are examples here of the things we might be able to do :https://www.richardcraddock.com/light-painting-examples/
I’ve got some other ideas to try as well .. I’d love to get something like the image above (even without the reflections). Models required!
