Images of the year

This year the "Image of the Year" was again selected by the members using a voting system. This system gives a useful insight to members preferences compared to various judges throughout the year.

Projected Image of the year.

Winner: Colin McInnes' image Fishing Huts in Pellestrina was voted image of the year, well done to our Chairman. Seems fair to also mention that 2nd and 3rd spots were taken by Chris Williams with Bee Landing and Kingfisher in the Cold

Suspended this year as the pandemic caused all print competitions for the season to be cancelled.

Geoff Clinton nabbed first place with his Canoes image, followed by Emma Mapletoft taking 2nd with Midnight Sun and 3rd with Boat.

Steve Ransom Trophy

This year the Steve Ransom Trophy competition had Birds or Insects as its subjects, topics that among others Steve was proficient at photographing.

Three images scored 20 with first place taken by Geoff Clinton's 'Brimstone Butterfly on Field Scabious', with another of Geoff's taking second place 'Female Stone Chat'. Third place was 'Kingfisher in the Cold' by Chris Williams.

First place for this round goes to Steve Ballard with his low-key portrait "Emma in the Shadow" followed by Colin McInnes in second place with his colourful "Burano Reflections" and Juliet Morton third with her action shot "Skill".

Angela McClean claimed first spot with "Under the Mushroom", Colin McInnes took second with "Reach for the Sky ", followed in third place by Richard Craddock and "Heartwood"

Project Image League 2022/23 round 1.

The 2022/23 Project Image competition season starts well for the chairman, Colin McInnes, taking the first place honours with his "Lagangarbh Hut at Sunrise", followed closely by Emma Mapletoft (Puffin Monochrome) and Chris Williams (Looking for Something Tasty).

Images of the year 2021-22

The "Image of the Year" selection was back in the hall although the choice was made by the members using a voting system. Entries were all placed Project Images from this seasons competitions (excluding the Portfolio competition) plus optionally one image per member that was entered into a competition and was not placed. A total of 22 images were enterred.

Projected Image of the year.

Winner: Emma Mapletoft who having taken the honour last year retains the trophy for the next year. Winning image was "Hallstatt Morning Mist", second place also went to Emma with "Cambodian" (previous title "Khmer Rouge Survivor") and third place taken by the chairman Colin McInnes with "Dereliction".

Project Image League 2021/22 round 3.

Leading the way for the final PI league competition of this season is Emma Mapletoft with "Vestrahorn", followed in second place by Emma (again) with "Grey Seal Pup"  - a very successful season for her. Third place was taken by Richard Craddock with "Carraig Fhada Lighthouse at dusk". And Angela McLean achieved a highly commended with "Early Morning Across the Valley".

Tryptich Competition

Tuesday 11th Jan saw a Tryptich competition issued as a short notice challenge with just a week to gather images and present three images in one photo, plus the criteria of "Images of the Festive Season" or "Everyday Objects in the Home" was set as the subject. Taking first and second spots Colin McInnes with Weight Veg and Cutlery. Third was John Chance-Read with Collage
